JKA England Open Championships set for 31 October in Crawley

Shotokan competition returns to K2 Crawley

JKA England has scheduled its 2026 Open Karate Championships for Saturday 31 October at the K2 Leisure Centre in Crawley, West Sussex. The official event page lists the venue as K2, Pottage Hill, Crawley, RH11 9BQ, and says the tournament will run under JKA rules. JKA England event page

The organiser says the programme includes kata, kumite and team events, with categories for all age groups and grades. It also welcomes Shotokan clubs and organisations from England, the wider UK and Europe. Those descriptions come from JKA England and should not be read as a universal format for every karate federation.

JKA England says its tournament rules and regulations will apply, subject to the separate 2026 JKAE Open Championships Categories & Rules of Entry document. The page notes that any small changes needed for the day will be communicated to competitors and judges. categories and rules document

Clubs and organisations interested in entering are asked to email technical@jka-england.org. The published submission deadline is 15 October 2026. JKA England also states that it may decline registrations or refuse entry, so clubs should confirm the latest pack before making travel or accommodation plans.

The event shares its K2 Crawley venue with other autumn karate dates, but it is a separate JKA England championship with its own rules, entry process and affiliation requirements. Competitors should follow the organiser’s current instructions rather than relying on details from another tournament.
