WUKF European Championships bring five days of karate to Sheffield

Sheffield prepares for five days of WUKF competition

The 16th WUKF European Championships are scheduled for 21–25 October 2026 at the Canon Medical Arena in Sheffield, S9 3TL. The World Union of Karate-Do Federations (WUKF) lists England as the host country and identifies Sheffield as the host city. WUKF event page

The published competition programme gives each day a different emphasis. Wednesday 21 October is devoted to individual and team kata across cadet, junior, senior and veteran divisions. Thursday 22 October moves to kumite, including individual and team events for veterans, cadets, juniors and seniors. Competition Program

Friday 23 October combines kobudo categories with further kumite divisions, followed by the opening ceremony at 19:00. Saturday’s programme lists children’s kata, children’s and minicadet kobudo, while Sunday includes inclusive karate categories as well as children’s and minicadet kumite. The event page separately links general karate, kobudo and inclusive category documents.

The general programme also places registration and referee and coaches seminars on 19–20 October, before the five competition days. Those are programme details rather than public entry guidance, so athletes, coaches and spectators should use the organiser’s current documents for any attendance or registration instructions.
