EKF open kumite squad session scheduled for Oldbury on 4 October

An open EKF kumite session is on the Sunday calendar

The English Karate Federation (EKF) has scheduled an open squad-training session focused on kumite for Sunday 4 October 2026. The federation’s event page gives the time as 11:00–14:00 and lists Portway Lifestyle Centre, Newbury Lane, Oldbury, B69 1HE as the location. EKF event page

The EKF describes the session as part of its squad pathway. Its notice says the training is intended to help karateka improve their skills, train with new people and learn from experienced coaches. That makes the event relevant beyond a closed selection session, while the published notice does not promise places, results or selection outcomes.

The event page says the open session is available to clubs and associations regardless of EKF membership. It also states that attendees must hold a karate licence. Prospective participants should confirm the latest event information with the EKF before travelling, particularly because this article is published on the scheduled date. The Oldbury session is a training opportunity rather than a championship listing. KarateUK will keep the federation’s pathway, venue and eligibility wording separate from the rules and entry conditions of competitions listed elsewhere in the UK calendar.
